Chances are, your group has to have several fundraisers per year in order to complete all of your projects, go on planned trips, and provide the group with the resources you need to be productive. Coming up with some new ideas while continuing your tried-and-true methods is usually the most productive way to fundraise each year.
If you’re an Evergreen Industries customer, chances are your holiday wreath fundraiser is your largest and most involved fundraiser of the year. Selling our gorgeous holiday products during the holiday season is often the most lucrative fundraising option for groups, so they continue coming back to us year after year.
But what can you do during the rest of the year, when you want to provide opportunities to your group members but need more funds to make them happen? Don’t fret – here are some fun new ways to fund raise that you can try this year in addition to your holiday wreath fundraiser.
Sell Your Services
Work for your cause! Put up flyers or advertise on social media for lawn mowing, fence repairing, yard raking, driveway shoveling, moving help, garage cleanup, etc. – anything your group has the skills or physical abilities to do. You’d be surprised how many people have odd jobs that need to be done around the house or yard that they’d be willing to pay your group to do!
Exploit Your Group’s Talents
People have so many different talents. Find out what those in your group can do and use those talents to fundraise. Whether it’s playing music, sewing, knitting, DJing, dancing, singing, photography – the possibilities are endless. If everyone has a different talent, you could even put on a talent show or create an exhibit to raise money.
Have a Good, Old-Fashioned Bake Sale
Almost everyone loves sweets, and most people are wiling to purchase them for a good cause. If your group is large enough or you can recruit enough bakers to help out, putting on a bake sale can definitely help raise money. Find a high-traffic area to sell in and give it a try!
Have a Car Wash
Car washes aren’t just for cheerleaders. Any group can run a car wash fundraiser!
Feed the Community
Bring members of the community together to eat a meal or snack prepared and served by your group. Make sure to explain to people who come what it is exactly that their donation is benefiting, and they’ll likely donate more than what’s required. Host a spaghetti dinner, Saturday brunch, or community picnic to show the neighborhood what your group needs.
